School Opening Ceremony (3rd March, 2015)

The day for the opening ceremony of the school got clashed with the AISSCE examination of students plus due to heavy unseasonal down pour, the opening ceremony could not be held as per schedule. So, it has to be postponed to the next day. On March 3rd, the school opening ceremony was held in the school auditorium with the guest of honor Mr. Ngodup Wangdue la, the Village Director of Upper Tibetan Children’s Village School. The function started with welcome speech from the school Principal Mr. Phuntsok Tashi. The chief guest gave away the prizes to the target percentage holders, cleanliness award, and subject toppers.
In the inaugural speech of the chief guest, he said that he was happy to be again in TCV School Gopalpur.  He apprised the students while appreciating students receiving prizes, the prizes in the notebook form are far more valuable than I-Pad, and expensive mobile. He had an opportunity of visiting TCV Gopalpur earlier and had had sharing ideas and problems with then director Gen. Pasang Wangdu la.  During one week stay here for school assessment, had a very good impression of the school. New students seeking admission prefer to joining TCV Gopalpur, that shows your school has good reputation in the exile community and popular as far as the guest of honor noticed. He said that parents and staff members of the school have the same thing to say to their children/ students all the time, that is ‘study hard, do well in the school, be respectful and don’t idle away your precious time, so on’. Teachers are no politicians, don’t have ideology or have no political motives. They always think good of students and have high hope and expectation from you (students). Students should feel proud of your school song and sing this song as a mark of gratitude and paying tribute to school wherever you are. He further added that His Holiness is being utilized and given warm reception in renowned universities around the world. We, as His followers should listen to what His Holiness says and accordingly study hard, for you are future chief Kalon, other kalons,  parliamentarians and leaders of future Tibet. Then, students are made to feel and have, a sense of gratitude to those sponsors who cut their daily expenses and make contribution towards the school and made available of beautiful structures and other required things. Finally he blessed the school with good wishes and thanked everyone.
