Rhetoric or Tsig gyak (traditional satirical verses competition between male and female students) was held between students of class VII and VIII on the evening of May 31, 2013. This is a folk culture of Tibet, prominent especially among people in rural areas of independent Tibet. The verses were composed by the students themselves and sung to a melodic tune. This activity enhances students’ command over the language and helps in promoting love for poetic composition. The competition was won by students of Class VII D, followed by VII P and VIII B students respectively.
